Erik Cajelais Triumphs at World Poker Challenge 10

The World Poker Challenge 10 concluded here with Erik Cajelais taking home the Title. Around 250 players took part in the $5,000 NLH Tournament, battling out for a Total Cash Prize of $1,217,350, out of which 28 players would be paid.

Reputed players gave their best, but couldn’t sneak through. Some of them are Eugene Todd in 25th place, World Series of Pokerfinal tablist Rhett Butler in 24th place, Dan at 22nd, and Nenad Medic at 21st.

It was Thurman who was first sent out by Sun, who also had pocketed a pair and finished at 9th. Tehan than took a couple of hits before Cherry and Bonomo doubled up through him. He was brought down to $300,000. After that Tehand seems to be in his groove, got his ground, and doubled up through Seidel, upsetting his final table bankroll.

Then later, Barch and Shorr went neck-to-neck. Barch eventually lost when Shorr showed a higher pair on the river. Finally, Barch has to go to home finishing at 8th place and claiming $23,835 as reward. Seidel was unable to surpass the hand that decimated his stack, and was later knocked out by Sun landing at 7th place and winning a cash prize of
$29,795.

Tehan next knocked down Shorr who was holding a high pocket pair. He lost when Tehan hit his king on the river leaving Shorr reeling at 4th place
with $71,520.

Finally, the three-way action took place among Tehan, Sung, and Cajelais. Initially, it was Sung who was in the lead, but later Tehan and Cajelais took turns and came back well to knock out Sung. He finished at 3rd place, taking home $125,145.

So the stage has come to the final table, after nearly two hours of masterful and high-spirited Heads-Up play. Cajelais initially opened with $110,000 and Tehan moved all-in. Then it was Cajelais’ turn who called with pocket Js and then Tehan had pocket 10s; however, the board missed both players eventually awarding Cajelais the tournament.

Joe Tehan finished 2nd and took home a sum of $250,290. Erik Cajelais won the bracelet, $405,230, and also $25,000 seat in the World Poker Tour Championship.
