According to a very reliable source in the Associated Press, it has been accounted that Jamie Gold and Bruce Crispin Leyser have agreed mutually and have ended their animosity between each other. It is supposed to be an out of court settlement. Jamie Gold is a World Series of Poker main event winner and has been at loggerheads with Bruce Crispin Layer who is a Los Angeles TV producer, the bone of contention being a $12 million dispute. In a statement which was signed jointly by them on Tuesday, it has been agreed mutually that the crisis would be solved “without litigation” and all further legal battles would come to an end.
The statement has stated that “Jamie always intended on sharing his winnings with Crispin.” Jamie Gold has been a player to reckon with and also has a Hollywood past to go with his great Poker skills. He has won the 2006 version of the World Series of Poker main event and has the reputation of beating about 8,772 players on his way to glory. The problem has been persistent since that period and several bigwigs are believed to be involved.
Jamie has already withdrawn half of the $12 million and the other part has been frozen by the court order after a suit was filed by Bruce Crispin Leyser. The suit was filed in the Las Vegas court. The problem between the two started when the two of them entered a mutual agreement in which Jamie Gold agreed to pay half of his proceeds from the WSOP for getting celebrities to the Online Poker room Bodog which was endorsed by Jamie.
It was affirmed by Leyser that he was left out in the deal and his services of getting celebrity talent was not awarded properly. Bodog had earlier sponsored Jamie’s seat (in exchange of the celebrities) in the event. In the recent turn of events, Jamie Gold does not have good chances to win the lawsuit and it very clear with U.S. District Court Judge Roger L. Hunt declaring that Leyser would win the suit in its December hearing.
According to the old adage “all is well which ends well”, the hostility has come to an end and according to a statement “Jamie always intended on sharing his winnings with Crispin,” it also stated that “Jamie and Crispin are happy to report they have fully settled this matter. They are pleased to be closing this chapter and look forward to continued success.”
