The stage is set for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA), which is due to begin this Thursday, January 04, 2007, at the famed Paradise Island Atlantis Resort. Young and experienced poker players, including some of the world’s finest professionals would battle it out for one of the world’s premier poker tournaments. This tournament is featuring an estimated prize pool of $5 million.
PokerStars is predicting approximately 750 entrants to take part in this tournament. Some of the poker’s best players like Joe Hachem, Chris Moneymaker, Barry Greenstein, and Humberto Brenes are expected to take the centre stage.
In fact, superstars including Saturday Night Live star Norm MacDonald and actress Mimi Rogers are also expected to arrive.
The PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) Championship is not the only tournament currently running, but we’ll also bring you the latest updates on the grand finals of the Moneymaker Millionaire, arguably the biggest free poker tournament in the history of poker.
The 2003 WSOP champion Moneymaker himself has won $2.5 million through a $39 PokerStars satellite entry. So, he himself has been an inspiration to this tournament.
World Poker Tour (WPT) in association with PokerStars is hosting a 6-day tournament on Wednesday, January 10, and this tourney would go on air in June 2007.
