Two big companies have come together to sign a pact, which could facilitate in the growth of Poker. Shuffle Master, Inc. is well known for its machines that are available in the casinos all over the world (they are predominantly famous for card shuffling machines) have entered into a special distribution agreement with Lightning Poker, Inc., which is based in Aston Pennsylvania.
Under the terms and conditions of the agreement, Shuffle Master will be in charge for promoting, marketing, distributing and servicing of the Lightning Poker™ Gaming System. It has also been said that Shuffle Master will have an opportunity to make an equity investment in Lightning Poker™ Gaming System and also acquire supplementary interest in the company if it goes for Initial Public Offer.
Lightning Poker™ Gaming System deals with electronic-table products, which are present in the casinos. These tables enable up to 10 players to play and take decisions through touch screen betting stations. It is also designed to offer a wide range of Poker games and will be expanded to take in a number of Shuffle Master’s proprietary titles.
Lightning Poker had earlier filed a suit against PokerTek, and this is mainly attributed to various conflicts that have ensued for a long time. The present merger is said to be a by-product of all those scuffles that have taken place.
Lightning Poker had alleged that PokerTek was wrongly informing their customers that Lightning Poker products were violating PokerTek’s Patents that were pending. A quick PokerTek’s statement, which established that Lightning Poker products did not infringe on any of its products was enough to break the ice.
In the words of Paul C. Meyer, Shuffle Master President and Chief Operating Officer, “we are pleased to offer Lightning Poker’s electronic poker table as one of our multi-player electronic table game platforms,” He has also stated “Since we exhibited the table at G2E last November, the table has been installed successfully at Turning Stone Casino in New York, and we are currently exhibiting it at the International Casino Exhibition (ICE) in London where it is generating tremendous interest. We are confident that the table will be a welcome addition to casinos to further extend its appeal, with accession of our proprietary content to the platform.”
