The Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) would assist the United Way |
The 2007 Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) Pro-Am Series is all set to get underway from January 17, 2007, in Louisiana at the Heymann Center. The STPT is an organizational member of the World Poker Association, which is the governing body for tournament poker worldwide.
Poker players from all over the world will come to participate in this tournament, and the winner is expected to take $5000 Visa Gift Card and the Championship Ring, and of course, the prizes would only be distributed to the top 10 finishers only.
Fracalossi, STPT Executive Producer said that “We are eager to bring this event to Lafayette. Poker is a great sport and I can't wait to see the talented players from the south. Our goal is to raise as much money as possible for the local charities plus give the players a great experience.”
Officials further opined that this tourney would benefit the United Way of Acadiana. This tournament is managed and backed by Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) Affiliate and Texas Hold'em consultant, a Louisiana-based licensed tourney provider.
The Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) is arguably the world’s largest and biggest amateur poker tour. The main concern of this tournament would be on raising money for charity, and this event would further strengthen the launch of the STPT's 2007 American leg of the Small Town Poker Tour World Pro-Am Series.
The Small Town Poker Tour also lends across its helping hand in several high profile charity, corporate and celebrity events. "We work with many celebrities and charities who want to use poker as a tool to raise money for their cause," Fracalossi said.
The STPT in the past has also received several endorsements from many professional and experienced poker players, associations and charities worldwide.
