James Woods |
James Woods grew up in Warwick and attended Pilgrim High School. He wanted to become a pilot. Therefore, he enrolled into the United States Air Force Academy, but he lost the chance because of the accident where his hand was severely injured forcing him to withdraw from the Academy. He then opted to pursue undergraduate study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, but later dropped in order to pursue a film career and headed to New York City.

He was chosen for Academy Award twice, first in 1987 as a Best Actor and again in 1996 for a Best Supporting Actor. The second one was for the film "Ghosts of Mississippi." He also won accolades for his outstanding work for Hades in Disney’s Hercules and in the Kingdom Hearts video game series. He opined that he would love the role of the domineering gangster Max in Sergio Leone’s gangster epic Once Upon A Time in America. In 1980, he married Kathryn Morrison. After a couple of years, "they got divorced. Later, Woods married Sarah Owen in 1989 and got separated in November 1989 and divorced in 1990.
James Woods is considered to be Hollywood’s most powerful actor and a poker enthusiast. He relishes playing Hold’em games and is a good competitor.
