Act:
A player when intends to either check, call, fold, open, bet, or raise during his turn of play this behavior is termed as Act.
Action:
All the acts like checking, betting, and raising done by the player during the poker game is called as Action. If the player is unaware of that it is his turn to act then the dealer will declare “your action, Sir”.
Action button:
In a 7-card stud high-low game, the player with an action-button should raise the bet to complete the bring-in to a full bet.
Action Only:
In many card rooms with respect to an all-in bets, only a full bet is considered as legitimate wager in terms of whether this constitutes a raise that can be re-raised. Anything less than a full bet is considered to be action only i.e. other players can call such a bet, but cannot raise it. For example, Chloe bets $10. Henry calls. John goes all-in for $14. When the bet gets back to Chloe, she is permitted only to call the extra $4; the same goes for John. See discussion at full bet.
Action Spot:
An Action Spot is a place or area of the table where the players do their act.
Active player:
A player who can yet compete for the pot is called an Active Player.
Add-on:
A player who has the opportunity of buying additional is called as Add-on. This can happen only in some tournaments.
Add-them-up-Lowball:
Add-them-up-Lowball is a draw poker game where the player with a hand of lowest total points wins.
Advanced concepts of Poker:
There are certain concepts used by the pro poker players during the game in order to win the maximum amount of money from their opponents. These concepts are termed as Advanced Concepts of Poker.
Advantage:
Advantage is similar to edge. It is used when a dealer has an advantage over the opponent.
