Greg Raymer vs David Williams

The preflop percentages of Raymer and David Williams was 79.5% and 20.5% respectively.

Raymer was cruising by 2-to-1 with something like $17,125,000 in chips against Williams’ $8,240,000, with blinds of $50,000-$100,000. Williams then raised $300,000 holding AHeart- 4Spade. Raymer then called off the big blind with 8Spade - 8Diamond.

The flop came 4Diamond - 2Diamond - 5Spade.

Williams straight away bet $500,000, and Raymer then raised $1,600,000.

Williams swiftly called off wherein the turn brought 2Heart. Raymer again announced a bet of $2,500,000 where as Williams again instantly called off. The river was 2Club giving both the players a full house.

For the first time, Williams took at least a second or two before calling and flipped his hand face-up before Raymer had anything to do. Raymer glanced at Williams’ card and then tossed over the winning hand.

Chris Moneymakes vs Sam Farha

The WSOP 2003 final was a very interesting game with Chris Moneymaker clinching the title with low cards to Sam Farha. Chris Moneymaker started out with $6,600,000 and Farha with $1,800,000.

Chris Moneymaker : 5Diamond– 4Spade

Farha: JHeart-10Diamond

The preflop odds were definitely in favour of Farha with a 63.9% to Chris’s 36.1%. Farha raised to $100,000. Chris Moneymaker called. The flop came as jSpade-5Spade-4Club.

The odds were now in favour of Chris Moneymaker who now  had  a 2 pair to Farha ‘s 1 pair. Moneymaker checked and raised $275,000 to Farha’s bet of $175,000.  Farha moved  all-in and Moneymaker called off.

The turn was a 8Diamond, which didn’t improve Moneymaker's hand. But the river card was a 4Heart, which gave Moneymaker a full house jSpade-5Spade-4Club-8Diamond-4Heart.

Robert Varkonyi vs Julian Gardner.

The preflop odds were definitely in favor of Robert Varkonyi with 61% to Julian Gardner’s 39%. Varkonyi raised $90,000 with QDiamond- TSpade and Gardner with JClub - 8Club. ThE flop camE QClub - 4Club - 4Spade giving Varkonyi top pair and Gardner A flush draw.

Gardner then moved all-in with $765,000 on a semi-bluff. Then, Varkonyi called off. The flush came on the river, but the 10 gave Varkonyi the title and $2,000,000 prize money.

Carlos Mortensen vs Dewey Tomko

It is one of the best final games to take place, eventually giving Mortensen the title.

Carlos Mortensen’s preflop percentage was 17.4 to Dewey Tomko’s 82.6%.

Mortensen raised $100,000 with the KClub - QClub and then Tomko called with the ASpade- AHeart in an attempt to trap Mortensen. The flop turned was JDiamond- TClub - 3Club giving Mortensen 2 over cards, the nut straight-draw, and a king-high flush draw. Mortensen had 9Club, 39’s, and 1A giving him 13 outs altogether, but when the 9Diamond hit on the river, he made the nut-straight. The hand won Mortensen the title and $1,500,000 in prize money.

Chris Ferguson vs T.J. Cloutier

The flop percentage of Chris Ferguson was 25.9% to T.J. Cloutier’s 74.9%.

Cloutier had $400,000 and Ferguson had $4,700,000 respectively.

Cloutier moved all-in with the ADiamond- QClub and Ferguson then called off with the ASpade- 9Club. The flop turned out to be 2Heart- KClub- 4Heart literally offering no assistance to both the players. The turn was the KHeart and on the river the 9Heart fell, giving Ferguson a pair of 9s and also ensuring the title crown with a cash prize of $1,500,000.
