About Him |
Raymer’s native place is Florida. He was a high school graduate from
the St. Louis School. His major specialization was in chemistry when he was at the University of Missouri-Rolla. Incidentally, he was also associated with Kappa Sigma Club. He was a graduate from the University of Minnesota Law School in the year 1992 and then started practicing Patent Attorney for more than 10 years.
He was a patent attorney before playing poker. Like many other people, he used to play for dimes during his academic career;never thought of a poker career. He used to reside in a tranquil two-storied building in the Southeastern Connecticut, neck of the woods near the Foxwoods at the Casino. He occasionally used to count at the cards at the local casinos. He had the interest of playing poker during his academics, but however, never thought of a poker career. He soon realized that polishing poker skills would definitely fetch him a rewarding career, and he started enhancing his poker skills by playing online. Few months later, Greg was sitting down and playing the world’s most prestigious event, the WSOP Tournament at Las Vegas.
That tournament, he competed with the best in the business and won the championship. Later, Greg’s success at the 2004 WSOP Main Event revealed a few things to the world that patent attorneys can have eye for details. Secondly, skilled poker players are everywhere if they are given a chance they could prove their mettle. He finally reiterated that he was able to achieve this success because of his ability to keep his nerves. Generally speaking, it is a pretty tough ask giving the very best the entire week. |

Poker Career |
He was counting cards at a local casino until he realized that skilled poker players have a good rewarding career. He started upgrading his poker skills and later went on to win the most prestigious event. Greg Raymer created history when he won the 2004 WSOP Championship by amassing the largest purse that has been ever paid to any poker tournament. Raymer was initially sitting down at the table, and was busy playing the pokers' most coveted event, the WSOP Tournament. He won the seat through internet. With his trademark cat eye glasses, he played poker at his best. Finally, overtaking more than 2000 participants of the WSOP Main Event.
He initiated this art of winning during the WSOP Event in the year 2001 in the Omaha Hi-Lo Split. The very next year, you can spot him at the background when Robert Varkonyi was celebrating his victory at the WSOP Main Event in 2002. In 2004, he surpassed David Williams and won the $5,000,000 in the WSOP Main Event. He was
raising pots, and also was quite prepared to take risk and further initiated a fantastic re-raise as well. Eventually, Greg Raymer went on to become the 2nd successive world poker champion since he was associated with PokerStars.com. |
