Software and Graphics

The software at Ladbrokes, which is based on Micro-gaming software, does not offer much excitement. The speed is sluggish and it takes time to access rakes hands and play history etc. The graphics are stale and it takes time to get used to it. The “avatars” are not supported but note taking is. You can find useful information such as the average pot size, percentage of players seeing the flop, and hands per hour.

Tournament traffic
The tournaments at Ladbrokes have started to attract players in good numbers after a slow start. During peak time the number of players playing ranges between 2500-3000 players.

Brief review of Ladbrokers Poker Room

Overview

Ladbrokes, which is supported by Ladbrokes, is considered to be Europe's busiest Poker site. One unique fact associated with Ladbrokes is that citizens from US are not allowed to play here. The site regularly attracts players in huge numbers, which exceeds 5,000 at peak times who are spread across as many as 2,000 virtual poker tables. The software is not all that great but some of the good features like note taking and hand history etc. are supported. The games offered are good in numbers and you can easily find players to play against. They have lot of high-limit games particularly in the pot- and no-limit games. The competition is soft and the players are mostly aggressive.

Game variety

Ladbrokes Poker offers normal variety of games. The game offerings include Texas Holdem, Omaha and Seven-card stud. The Hi-Lo version of seven-card stud is not unavailable as of now. They also have five-card stud game.

Tournament Types

One good thing about Ladbrokes is that they offer lot of tournaments. They have single and multi table tournaments apart from SnG’s. They introduced 'Ladbroke Ladders' some time back, which is a nice multi-level SnG tournament and the uniqueness is that you don’t talk about cash. In Ladbroke Ladders, you earn tokens that allow you to enter the next level of the competition. They are also known for supporting regional tournaments.

Game Information

The website provides good information for beginners and novices to learn. They offer an FAQ section, which lists quite a number of questions. Another good thing is that they provide a flash-based tutorial for easy following of the game. It provides a good practice ground for beginners. They provide overview of rules of the game as well as strategies.

Competition

Ladbrokes has a common site for poker players, casino players and other games also. A lot of cross games players visiting poker tables. This results in a lot of loose and aggressive games. The view-flop percentage in ring games ranges between 40 and 50 and the peak can be more than 65 also. One positive aspect is that you will find some good players visiting and they will make winning difficult.

Sign-up bonus

Ladbrokers Poker Room has decent sign-up bonus programs. Some of them include the initial welcome bonus of 25% for all the Ladbrokers players. Players can claim this 25% of the purchase bonus on initial chip purchases between $50 and $400. However, the highest you can avail up to $100 ($400 purchase)

Loyalty bonus

There are some good loyalty programs in the form of freerolls, which are available on a daily basis for $200. Also this room hosts a daily feeder tourney freeroll, where you can expect people to be around 5000, which really becomes tough and at the same time makes it tedious. This is particularly gets boring, when the prize money is only paid from re-buys accumulated. Besides these, there are also daily freerolls, of $1000, which requires a minimum of 100 hands. Weekly freerolls are also available where the prizes would be given to the top 20 places. Celebrity freerolls are also available with some exotic prizes.

Fish

There are a large number of inexperienced players at Ladbrokes Poker. Nevertheless, the quality of the players is quite good. So, it makes sense to know how to play aggressive and tricky players if you want to make profit. The main reason is that Ladbrokes Poker offers a casino and these casino players have spilled over into the poker room. Most of these players play aggressively and the view flop percentage tends to be between 40% and 50% in ring games. What it effectively means is that to get to the flop you will usually go through a raise or two. However, don't expect the action to decrease once you get to the flop.

Customer and Technical Support

The support is available 24/7 through telephone, live chat as well as through e-mail. This room has a committed team of professionals, who gives your prompt responses.

Promotions

Exciting promotions are up for the grab at the Ladbrokers Poker Room. There is an initial sign-up bonus of 25% for all the new customers. However, you need to stake all your deposit within 2 weeks of the bonus. Also there is refer- a-friend bonus, where you would be entitled to receive $50, when your friend opens an account with us. He must play at least 150 raked hands before you get your bonus. After your friend is through, then you would be entitled to get $50 bonus.

Cash-outs

The cash out options available are VISA, MasterCard, UK debit cards, check, and international wire.

Deposit facility

VISA, MasterCard, Delta, Switch, bank draft, money order etc are some of the deposit this room supports.

Stakes

For No Limit ring games the stakes start from $0.10/$0.20 ($20) and go up to $50/$100. In Limit ring games the stakes start from $0.10/$0.20 and go up to $300/$600.

Rake

The Rake has been fixed at 5% of the total pot size. The maximum can be extended is $3.00. All the games inclusive of 1 on 1 with blinds $1.00 / $2.00.

Suggestions

Many players at Ladbrokes will be aggressive. You will see raises before and after the flop. Aggressive players like to try to dominate the table, irrespective of the strength of their hand. It is recommended that you play a tight game. You should play less drawing hands like J-10 suited or lower suited connectors. When fewer players see the flop for a larger bet, it will be difficult for you to make hands like suited connectors profitable because you will not get the necessary pot odds. Before pre-flop you'd ideally like to have a big pocket pair like A-A. There is usually a raise pre-flop and you will be in an excellent position to draw blood when you're close to the button and are acting after your opponents. Your opponents are not only willing to call but will also put in the first raise. Instead of playing slow, go for a re-raise. In this way you will put the pressure on your opponents and take control of the hand. In case the opponent raises with a unworthy hand make him pay dearly and hopefully you can get in all your money before the flop.
