Software and Graphics

The software at Poker Plex is a good one and has been provided by Cryptologic. The game play is smooth most of the times and the lobby is pretty neat. Vital information such as view flop percentage and average pot size is displayed. You can also view the players playing at a table by selecting a table. One problem is that you cannot access the functions related to Cashier unless you close all the tables. The poker windows are large and so the resolution needs to be large otherwise the windows overlap even when you are playing at two tables.

At Poker Plex, during peak hours, the ring game traffic attracts approximately 2500 real money players.

Tournament traffic

Since this room hosts all the traditional and important games, the traffic is expected to be very good. As such during the peak hours the traffic is set to be around 4500 players, which is a great turnaround considering the popularity of the card room.

The financial security is set to be secured. This is because it is a part of a major poker network. Its prime aim is to facilitate maximum comfort to all the players and also create a sense of security by protecting all their financial information.

Brief review of Poker Plex Room

Overview

Poker Plex is promoted by Bingo Entertainment Ltd, which is one of the world's foremost online bingo marketing and management companies, and Cryptologic Inc, a highly acclaimed international supplier of digitally distributed gaming platforms. Poker Plex offers average number of games but the limits are varied in nature. The games run smoothly but at times tend to get sluggish. The traffic is decent and most of the player traffic is concentrated on low limit games. The competition is loose but the game play is difficult at higher limit games. The software has some advanced features to offer but the graphics are not so great. The promotions are truly wonderful and the monthly $50 bonus offered to all real money players is nothing short of great.

Game variety

Poker Plex Room supports all the conventional and usual games like the Texas Hold’em, Omaha-Hi/Lo, and Seven-Card Stud are available. However, Texas Holdem game is available in fixed limit and Omaha is available in pot-limit. The games are available in varied limits and the highest limit is GBP 150/300 in fixed limit and GBP 10/20 in no-limit Texas Holdem.

Tournament Types

Poker Plex has got a decent mix of tournaments. They have the following three types of tournaments to offer:
  1. Multi-Table Tournaments,
  2. Single Table Tournaments, and
  3. Satellite Tournaments

Apart from single and multi-table buy-in tournaments, there are frequent Freeroll tourneys and guaranteed prizes. The Sit ‘n’ Go tournament is quite popular with a wide range of buy-ins ranging.

Poker Plex offers tournaments from £2 to £200 in the Poker Plex Room. They have also introduced Thunder Tournaments. In these tournaments, the action times will be greatly reduced. You will only have a mere 12 seconds to act and the shorter blind levels will be of 6 minutes.

Game Information

Poker Plex provides very potent information related to all the supported games. They do not have a flash based tutorial but compensate it by offering a chance to play free games. They provide a FAQ section, which makes it much easier to scout for important information. You can also read various published articles and sign up for their newsletter.

Competition

Poker Plex, like lot of other sites, attracts a lot of traffic from the parent company’s online casino base. They offer free online poker games and lot of casino players try it out which results in number soft games. The view flop percentage ranges between 40% and 50% especially at middle stake games. The players are not aggressive, which makes it easy to be a winning player.

Sign-up bonus

At Poker Plex, you can earn $50 a month for playing if you complete playing 250 raked hands in a particular month. $50 will be added to your Ecash account. If Poker Plex recovers at least $1 as rake in hand, the hand will be considered as played.

Loyalty bonus

Poker Plex is offering 2 WSOP $15K main event packages, which you win using your My Poker Points (MPP). You can enter into WSOP if you have a minimum of 200 MPPs. Poker Plex is holding a series of bi-weekly tournaments and the buy-in is 5,000 MPP. Poker Plex conducts daily 200 MPP and 500 MPP tournaments.
Poker Plex has started a points system known as ‘My Poker Points' (MPP) from 1 January 2006. You will enrolled to MPP automatically but points can be earned either by playing in the ring games or by playing in tournaments. You can use earned MPPs as buy-ins in free-roll tournaments, free-roll tournaments for super-satellites for big events, or use them as entry fees for entering in tournaments. Poker Plex will also give you $50 as Monthly Bonus in the month of April after you have completed playing the 250th raked hand of the month. You can earn 30% for each player you refer by joining their Webmaster program.

Fish

Lot of players from the mother company’s online casino base visit Player Plex. They are new and inexperienced players and are mostly interested in playing for free here. Above average tournament players can do very well here. Most of the players usually play with bad hands, so it is recommended that you raise the bets quickly in order to fizzle out the competition. Most of the action is restricted to lower limits but with some good promotions they are attracting lot of new players. As the stakes increase the competition tends to become tougher and it is quite stiff in high stake games.

Customer and Technical Support

The customer support is pretty good at Poker Plex. You will get telephone support as well as live online and email support. The response from the representatives is pretty quick. The option to call their support telephone number is better. The operators have good knowledge and are quite friendly as well.

Promotions

You can win a BlackBerry 6710 Wireless Handheld PDA by participating in the Weekend Challenge. Stakes

Poker Plex supports moderate game variety. The table stakes start from $0.15/$0.25 and go up to GBP 150/300 in the fixed games. In pot-limit and no-limit versions the stakes vary from $0.25/$0.50 up to GBP 5/10.

Rake

Poker Plex follows a No Flop - No Drop policy i.e. they do not take any rake from hands that do not reach the flop. They take 5% from every pot over $5, up to a maximum of a $3 rake.

Suggestions

You need to raise your strong hands, especially pre-flop because lots of players are loose and passive. You will definitely find tables where 4 or 5 players will invariably see the flop, so strong hands like pocket Aces and Kings gain importance. However, you need to be aware of potential draws on the flop. If you play slow a big hand where there are two suited or connected cards on the board, you're simply giving other players a free chance to draw out on you. You need to make them pay to see the flop, and pay for their draws. By participating in these tables and playing positively, there’s every chance that you might even win smaller pots facilely.
