Here's a comparison between hands and which hand beats which. We need to first understand as to which hands beat other hands or the rank of hands. Hands that are described first beat the hands that are described later. So a straight flush beats a straight, four-of-a-kind beats full house, and a royal flush can beat anything.
So, here are some basic jargon in case you do not know.
Suit
The suits are spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs.
Suited
Comprises the same suit. It is sometimes denoted as s in books.
Cards Speak
It occurs when your hand is the best possible five-card combination, no matter how you call it.
Rank
The increasing or decreasing rank of cards i.e. Two, Three, Four, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace are the ranks of cards.
Split Pot
It occurs when multiple players tie for a hand. The pot is split up evenly among the winners.
Connected
Cards that are sequentially ranked. For example, a Jack and Queen, or a 7 and 8 are connected.
Kicker
After a hand is declared, other card(s) left over.

What happens if two players have the same hand? In most cases, there is a way to determine who wins after that. When tied hands occur, higher the rank, better is for the player. If players still have the same five-card hand even after evaluating the ranks, the pot is split evenly among all the winning players.
