Asian Poker classic

 

The Asian Poker Tour would be held at the Intercontinental Grand Resort in Goa, India. This is a first of its kind poker tournament taking place in this part of the world. This tournament would take place between the 1st & 5th of March 2007, and already the expectations on this event are very huge.
Like we discussed earlier, this would be the first ever major professional poker tournament taking place in India. The prize pool for this event is expected to be $1,000,000. 

Satellites for this tournament are currently being held at CelebPoker. The prize at CelebPoker is a $7,500 package, which includes $5,000 + $300 entry to the No-Limit Freezeout as well as 4 night’s luxurious accommodation and $1,360 travel money.

Asian Poker Classic facilitates with a fabulous poker experience, which has never been created, and also brings you back year after year. Perhaps for the first time, the poker industry has spotted this part of the world as a potential one, and also has few plans in the pipeline.

Around 200 players are expected to participate in this tournament with $7500 as buy-in. It is suppose to attract some of the best and quality poker players across the globe. There are also many celebrities taking part in the event. The Asian Poker Classic is even relying on old stalwart, the online poker satellite to draw more players into the event through online poker site  (and tournament sponsor) Maharajah Club.

Talking about poker players in Asia, this nationality has a long history of the game. Starting from Johnny Chan to Men "The Master" Nguyen to Can Kim Hua, Asian players have created a significant mark on the game to such an extent that the Asian influence would be literally felt in any tournament that is conducted these days.

The game of poker has finally cruised its way to Asia, which could perhaps expand the poker world by millions more and spread the knowledge of poker across everyone in this part of the world.
