BetFair Asian Poker Tour

 

BetFair, one of the most popular poker rooms, is all set to host the prestigious tournament,  The BetFair Asian Poker tour in Singapore, starting from 12th to 18th November 2006. It is a first of its kind Asian tournament with an initial buy-in of $5000. In all, around 400 players are expected to compete for a prize pool of $2 million.

The Asian Poker Tour event is expected to take the center stage by overhauling all the happenings on the poker scene around the world, and the qualification for the much awaited BetFair Asian Poker Tour is exclusively through satellite qualification at BetFair Poker, and you could join the event with just $3.60. The main event would be No-Limit Freezeout Tournament with a $5000 buy-in.

As described earlier, this tournament is first of its kind in Asia (commencing on would from 12th to 18th November 2006). Since, no tournament has been hosted in this part of the world before. 

This tourney would kickoff and amidst the alluring ambience of the Mandarin and Belvedere Ballrooms at Meritus Mandarin Hotel. It creates a never before experience, providing the players the opportunity to win, of what would happen to be a one of the most coveted poker tournaments.

More than 400 players are expected to hit the deck with only the winner taking home. The tournament and also winning cash prize, which would be around $5,00,000.

More importantly, all the players need to be over 21 years old, as on 12th November 2006, to qualify for the package. The entire wrap up is worth $8000 including food which is $5000 and travel expenses as well as accommodation.

The BetFair Asian Poker Tour would be a broadcasted on air, and all the viewers across the globe could witness this spectacular event. This Asian Poker Tour was initiated by Capital Events in association with BetFair and the Singapore Tourism Board, which would be filmed and telecasted to worldwide audience in the future.

Ben Fried, Head of Poker at BetFair told the reporters that, "this is the largest poker tournament to take place in Asia and the first poker event in Singapore. We are privileged to host such a groundbreaking event."
