Barbara was born in Los Angeles. She started playing played at the age of 4. It is her passion for the game that made her play regularly. She became as an experienced campaigner when she was 21. The first time when she played in public cardroom was in the year 1976. She now resides in Hollywood with her family, and continuing to play high stake poker games for her living.

Tom McEvoy, in one of his articles, described Barbara as “She is a very tough opponent not only for female opponents. “Barbara Enright … every bit is as aggressive as the most aggressive men.” Barbara is hailed as the best woman poker player of all time. She is a legend amongst all the poker payers. She is in fact the only woman player to win a tournament featuring a cash prize of more than $1, 00,000.

Barbara is an inspirational speaker, an admired writer, and also the Editor-in-Chief of Woman Poker Player magazine

Poker Career

 

Barbara Enright is considered to be one of the best poker players around of this era. She plays online poker at Paradise Poker under the screen name of "ItsOnlyMe". She started playing poker when she was only 4. She used to play 5-Card Draw with her elder brother.

From 1976 onwards, she has been playing in different cardrooms and coincidently same year she came to know that she was suffering from Lupus Erythematosus, but this news did not distract her from playing poker. She kept on playing and her career took an unexpected path.

In the 1995 World Series of Poker Main Event, Barbara Enright finished at 5th position, which is higher than any other woman in the world.

Barbara currently has 3 World Series of Poker (WSOP) gold bracelets/wins.

Barbara holds the unique attribute of being the first woman to win 2 Ladies' Events at WSOP.

She is also the winner of  the 1996 WSOP Pot-Limit Hold’em Tournament.

She has thoroughly polished her poker skills over the years and is now eyeing big tournaments. One of them includes the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Championship, which she hasn’t won and which she is trying for constantly.
