About Linda Johnson

Crusader for a Good Cause!

Linda’s love for the poker industry is really incredible. She happens to be a moral policeman for everything, which is wrong and unethical in the poker world. She has been crusading tirelessly for the removal of foul and abusive language from the casino rooms.

Her Busy Life

Linda retired as a publisher of Card Player last August where she worked for seven years. Originally, she wanted to relax and travel after her retirement, but life didn’t turn out that way. Since her retirement, she has been busier than ever. She has been engaged from one card room to another hosting events, giving speeches, and influencing everyone in the process by her magnetic personality. For Linda, there hasn’t been any dull moment in her life since then.

Poker Career

Defining Moments in her Career

Linda started her career with the United States Postal Department. Later on the monotony of the job caught her and she decided to call it quit. In the poker world, her most defining moment was to win a gold bracelet at the 1997 World Series of Poker.  She still gets very emotional every time she thinks of it.

Recently, she won the Orleans Open Las Vegas in July 2006. This was $100 Ladies N/L Hold'em Tournament.

Other Pursuits

Linda has got some exciting new projects in the pipeline. The details of which she has not divulged as of yet.  These days, she is busy planning the sixth annual WPIC (World Poker Industry Conference) as well as the inaugural World Poker Player's Conference.
