About Tiffany Williamson

 

Early Life

Tiffany was interested in becoming a lawyer. She finished her undergraduate degree in 1992 from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. She went to the University of South Carolina and received masters degree in 1996. From the Columbia Law School in New York, she finished her Juris Doctor in 1999. She started working in a top notch New York law firm known as Davis Polk & Wardwell. She worked for 2 years at the Davis Polk & Wardwell, New York's office. In 2001, she went to United Kingdom to work in another high-profile law firm known as the Davis Polk & Wardwell London for its England office and pursued her career in law. In London, she got the experience of working with the world’s most reputed financial companies like Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, and Morgan Stanley. Tiffany holds a license to practice in New York even though she moved to London.

Tiffany has also been a student of National Chengchi University in Taipei and Taiwan apart from studying at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and South Africa.

Her experience of working with big and reputed financial companies made her very comfortable with numbers that huge money brings along with it.

She participated in the 36th Annual World Series of Poker's No-Limit Holdem Championship for the first time in 2005 and secured 15th place. She also won $400,000, which is incidentally the highest amount in terms of cash prize by any female player.

She frequents a London club known as Gunshot and during a freeroll, she won a trip to Vegas for participating in World Series of Poker. She managed to enter the No-Limit Holdem Championship in World Series of Poker after winning a $10 satellite tournament. This was her first opportunity to take a swipe at the best poker players in the world. She came out trumps even though she was participating for the first time and beat more than 200 female participants. In 2005, she was seeded at 99 on the 2005 Money List and was in the 10th place on the womens' "All-Time" Money List. To utter amazement of poker professionals, Tiffany was the 15th highest money grosser ever among female players in the United Kingdom.

Williamson, already the world’s renowned player, is well set with a good future in law set right in front of her and a prospective second stint in professional poker game. Having this as options, it really makes her dictate the terms and calling all the shots like these. Tiffany had always been a brilliant academician, this spurs her to discuss about things she keepsson doing especially poker. To discuss her attachment and passion for the game of poker, she came out with Richard Herring on the celebrity poker chat show Heads-Up in 2005.

She does not mind discussing her quality and style of play. She has participated in some discussions regarding the quality of her play. The discussions were conducted on various poker forums including Two Plus Two and Gutshot.

Tiffany wants to continue playing poker and keep on improving her game, and all this while she continues to work as an attorney in London.
