WSOP 2002 - History and Winner Details

Robert Vakornyi won the WSOP 2002 Final, winning $2,000,000 prize money.  He had a hand showing QDiamond TSpade. Julian Gardner at the other end was holding his favorite pair of JClub 8Club.  Initially, Robert Vakornyi was sounding positive, and therefore he raised $90.000. Then Gardner called off, and the flop was QClub 4Club 4Spade. This gave Gardner a flush draw, not to mention, Robert Vakornyi who was holding holding a pair of Queens. He then cautiously bet $50,000 and forced Gardner to bluff, and then he finally moved all-in with his $2,000,000. Robert then obviously had no choice, but to call and eventually fetched TDiamond. The river gave Vakornyi a full house with TClub, as it trounced Gardner's flush and gave the title.
