The 2007 World Series of Poker is scheduled with several changes in the package, not the least of, which are spinning around the impact of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act by the United States. All these changes were briefed in an open call, for the first time, hosted by World Series of Poker commissioner Jeffrey Pollack.
Among such moves, the first to come under discussion was the situation of online poker room. Previously, there were several poker rooms establishing huge presence at the WSOP, with some poker rooms even setting up their hospitality rooms with plenty of free stuff. However, for certain rooms, that might not be the case for this year’s WSOP. While no names of the poker rooms have been disclosed, Pollack said that there will not be an affiliation between the WSOP and any online poker room that takes bets from U.S. players. All this mean that Bodog, Full Tilt, Poker Stars, and Ultimate Bet would have no presence at the WSOP, which could well be described as a potential blow for all these companies.
The 2007 WSOP does not engage any third party registration services from any of these companies, which means that if you win a seat at 2007 WSOP through Poker Stars, then you need to heed your registration by yourself.
And now all eyes would be on the number of participating players, Last year, nearly 8800 players took part in the 2000 WSOP, and many of the poker players were from the online community. However, Pollack sounds confident that the numbers will not dip and in fact, the organizers have planned for tables which can hold more than 10,000 players.
The World Series of Poker is considered to be the most coveted and prestigious event in Poker. It is the dream of every poker player and is the ultimate achievement. The 2007 WSOP is the most awaited event of the year. Like the previous year, this 2007 WSOP holds several events like Texas Hold'em Limit, Omaha Pot Limit, 7-Card-Stud Hi/Lo, Pot Limit, No Limit, etc. Further, some other types like as Razz and Lowball have also been included in this year’s World Championship event.
The winner of every WSOP event would be honored with the most privileged award - the World Series of Poker Gold Bracelet, with the winner of the Main Event walking away with the coveted title of World Champion.
WSOP 2007 Satellites
You can also qualify to play in the 2007 WSOP main event by winning your seat. There are online satellites tournaments for the WSOP which enables you to take part
However, to qualify for this, you will need to enter and win several WSOP satellites taking place throughout the year, taking place at local casinos and in online casinos. Visit sites like Sportbook Poker, PokerRoom, Paradise Poker, Titan Poker, Mansion Poker etc. to qualify for the event.

Buy-in $10,000
The first way to enter the main event of the 2007 WSOP is through the buy-in tourney, which would cost $10,000. Considering the prize pool worth $10,000,000, this buy-in amount really sounds zilch. If you can support yourself with $10,000, you need not have to enter a qualifying tournament to participate in the main event of the World Series of Poker. Hence, all you need to do to enter Main Event is register at least 2 weeks prior to the World Series of Poker main event, or register at the main event in Las Vegas.
However, before the World Series of Poker main event, you need to hold your $10,000 buy-in fee and your registration form. You should also be aware of the fact that the WSOP do not permit you to charge your buy-in fee if you are paying it offsite.
In the case of making an offsite payment, (to cover your buy-in fee) you need to submit your payment in the form of a cashier's check or a wire transfer.
